Live Streaming Fixtures Standings l Top Scores l Top Assists French League (2019-2020) - Ligue 1 is the top caste football competition in France. French Ligue 1 is organized by LFP (Ligue de Football Professional). There are 20 French League clubs that will take part in the Ligue 1 event. Each team will play 38 matches per season in the home-away format. This competition also implements a system of promotion and degradation with Ligue 2 which is one caste below. The French league is indeed one of Europe's top leagues. According to UEFA coefficients, Ligue 1 is consistently in the top 5 of Europe's best leagues. This competition was first held in 1932 and has given birth to many league champions

Luckily in the past, people have known deliberation to agree. Without that, maybe French football will not be as modern as today. It could be that Ligue 1 (Le Championnat de France de D1) is also born late. As in the Americas and the majority of mainland European countries, football entered France thanks to Englishmen. The first club to stand in the country was Le Havre Athletic Club (in 1872), the team that now lives in the second division aka Ligue 2.

This is not surprising given that Le Havre is a port city located right on the edge of the English Channel. So, the locals began to recognize this game from British sailors. But, at least until the 1890s, there were three kinds of football rules played in France: association football, rugby football, and hybrid football (the first two types of combinations).

Because it is different, the development of each type is not smooth. Because of this, people deliberated and agreed to make it simpler under one rule, namely football association, similar to the rules we know today. As a result, more people are interested and football is reaching all corners of France. The number of interested people and new clubs triggered the holding of regional football tournaments. Paris held it first in 1892 and then followed other regions.

However, due to ethnic and religious differences, there has not been a special competition that holds regular club matches nationally. Until 1903, there were at least seven regional tournaments held in France. The formation of the French football federation was also slow despite the Les Bleus team having played matches between countries for the first time on 1 May 1904 against Belgium (score 3-3).

Based on the schedule, the 2018-2019 Ligue 1 season starts from August 2018 until May 2019 which qualifies for French league 1 including: Amiens, Angers SCO, Girondins Bordeaux, Caen, Dijon, Guingamp, Lille OSC, Olympique Lyon, Olympique Marseille, USA Monaco, Montpellier, Nantes, OGC Nice, Nimes, Paris Saint-Germain, Reims, Rennes, Saint-Etienne, Strasbourg and Toulouse with the addition of two promotion teams ready to compete in the new season are Nimes and Reims. They replaced Troyes and Metz who were relegated to France's Ligue 2.

As for each club the captain who is truly capable of leading the green field in order to compete among them is the captain of the Amiens club (Thomas Monconduit), Angers SCO (Ismael Traore), Girondins Bordeaux (Benoit Costil), Caen (Julien Feret) , Dijon (Cedric Varrault), Guingamp (Jimmy Briand), Lille OSC (Ibrahim Amadou), Olympique Lyon (Nabil Fekir), Olympique Marseille (Dimitri Payet) AS Monaco (Radamel Falcao), Montpellier (Vitorino Hilton), Nantes (Leo Dubois ), OGC Nice (Dante), Nimes (Fethi Harek), Paris Saint-Germain (Thiago Silva), Reims (Danilson da Cruz), Rennes (Benjamin Andre), Saint-Etienne (Loic Perrin), Strasbourg (Ernest Seka) and Toulouse (Christopher Julien)

All of these clubs are the result of the list of names of French League clubs participating in Ligue 1 season 2018-2019. and each club has a stadium that has entered international standards and is acquired by FIFA.
